GRG 3D walls at Saint-Gobain Multi Comfort Visitor Centre
Posted on 4th May 2020
Design and Visual Concepts is proud to have been selected to provide moulded Glass Reinforced Gypsum (GRG) 3D walls for the Saint-Gobain Multi Comfort Visitor Centre on Great Portland Street, London. Saint-Gobain is a multinational corporation producing a variety of construction materials and solutions. One of Saint-Gobain’s subsidiaries, ‘Saint-Gobain Formula’, is a leading supplier of industrial plaster and gypsum products.
We manufactured and installed the feature wall behind the main reception area as well as a display wall on the lower floor of the building (see images). Both were moulded using Saint-Gobain Formula’s gypsum plaster reinforced with glass fibres (hence the term GRG) to three dimensional patterned designs.
GRG is a lightweight, strong and fireproof material that can be moulded to any shape or design to produce architectural features such as wall cladding, column covers, ceiling soffits and light troughs. These can be dressed and decorated in many ways to match or distinguish the building’s design concept.
Saint-Gobain’s Multi Comfort Visitor Centre is a meeting space and innovation centre showcasing a variety of products and solutions for the construction industry. Visitors can explore new technology and experience first-hand how a better-built environment can improve people’s comfort and daily lives. Multi-Comfort is a building concept developed by Saint-Gobain to improve comfort, health and wellbeing through a better built environment.
