GRG column casings for 100 Bishopsgate
Posted on 6th July 2020
100 Bishopsgate is a 37-storey tower building comprising mainly of office space constructed on Bishopsgate in London, situated on the eastern edge of the City’s financial district. At 181 metres in height it offers 790,000 sq. ft. of work space.
Celtic Contractors approached us to provide 31 GRG column casings for the interior framework of floors 8 and 9 of the building. Each casing is manufactured to the same specification of 900mm diameter and 3m height, with skirting detail plus mould adaptations to suit. DVC manufactured, delivered and installed all 31 GRG column casings on-site.
GRG column covers can be square, curved or elliptical in shape, and typically encase the supporting structure of a building where it is not part of a wall. GRG is a popular material for encasing columns as it is quick and cost-effective to install, light, strong and durable and is BS476 Class 0 fire rated.
More information about the 100 Bishopsgate development can be found on the 100 Bishopsgate website.
