Design and Visual Concepts’ range of glass fibre reinforced gypsum column covers provides an easy and versatile solution to concealing structural columns and vertical building elements with an attractive monolithic look which can be decorated to compliment your project’s overall design scheme.

We manufacture a range of circular column casings ranging from 200mm up to 1000mm in diameter and with lengths available up to 3000mm. It is also possible to stack the casings to reach increased heights if required. As our GRG column covers are formed in a mould, it is also possible to make them to specific shapes and dimensions to meet the exact requirements of individual projects.

Column casing product range

Our GRG column casings are solely for interior use. They are supplied in two pieces and are fixed together using countersunk mechanical fixings and an optional lightweight support framework. The two halves are butted together around the column they are concealing and fastened. A suitable filler is then used to conceal the joint to provide a smooth external surface for painting and decorating. We offer a supply only or a supply and site installation service for all our products, please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Gypsum column covers are fire resistant, with Class ‘O’ fire propagation to BS476-6. However, they should be regarded as providing no fire protection to structural columns or components within a building.
