Heathrow Airport T3 Departures Area

Client: Heathrow Airport
Location: London
Budget: £20,000

We were extremely privileged to be selected to carry out the highly coveted task of manufacturing and installing the spacious and modern conceptual internal ceiling works at the main departures lounge and retail area to the T3 Departures Area. The very nature of this project design made us a first choice for our expertise. This included our experienced understanding of off- site modular construction which brings vast improvements to traditional installation methods.

The impressive, large waving ceiling rafts were formed from our pre-cast GRG modular sections to create the modern and spacious impression.

Along with the ceiling rafts in the central area we also installed the perimeter curving bulkheads above and around the retail units and provided all the finely detailed cladding to the roof light reveals up and beyond the waving ceiling rafts. The bulk of our installation process for these works were carried out from mobile scissor lifts which was crucial for the install demands. All the GRG works were suspended from the structure by our lightweight metal support framework designed, constructed and completed by our experienced installation and finishing teams.

Our UK airports experience was key in the client’s decision making when selecting us to carry out this large specialist works contract – which takes centre stage at Heathrow T3.

The logistics of working in airports is never easy, often long nights are required and maneuvering amongst other trades can make for a challenging installation. Our craftsman are skilled in working in these environments and delivered the installation within our clients programme.
