THE SCENARIO: Soho Place is a 285,000 sq ft mixed-use scheme on the corner of Oxford Street and Charing Cross Road. It will house 209,000 sq ft of offices, 36,000 sq ft of retail and 40,000 sq ft theatre and new public realm. Completion date is due early 2022.
We were approached by Thornton Partnership to manufacture and install ribbed AC730 Jesmonite wall panels to Soho Place, Marketing Suite. The marketing suite is located at 9 Rathbone Place and comprises different internal finishes to be featured in the new Soho Place development.
OUR SOLUTION: We received drawings from AHMM Architects and worked to their specification. We produced a sample of the Jesmonite wall panel for approval before we started production. Once the sample was approved we manufactured a model to scale and produced a rubber mould of the model. From this mould we were able to cast the Jesmonite panels. We colour matched according to the specification required and supplied and installed 120mm SFS framework to hang the Jesmonite wall panels.
